Northern Monkey are pleased to announce that we have brought a Cockney on board. In all seriousness though, Kev has joined us as we look to meet the current demand and still see our families once in a blue moon.
I have worked with Kev within the Fire Service for 10 years and he brings with him a wealth of business experience that quite honestly was getting too much for just the two of us, in the short 18 months since we started, I've accumulated files to store my files in. You really do have to be a jack of all trades in this industry, so Kev will be a great addition.
In other news, it was great to be at The Beer School, Westhoughton last night as they received their CAMRA pub of the year award. It's a fantastic achievement only just over a year since opening their doors, they're helping to revitalise Westhoughton and its becoming a real go to place. The atmosphere is always friendly, and they have supported local breweries from day one. I wish Steve and Rachel every success in the future.
Our keykeg beers have been received very well, and we'd like to thank the Nook and Cranny in Bromley Cross for letting us trial our first Funky Monkey keg that sold out in 24 hours! We've got plans for some great new beers and I even heard Liam mention putting cherry into a beer (that in itself is testament to how far he's come since day one).
Theres a few big events coming up this year that we have also been invited to, that we can't say too much about just yet but we're very much looking forward to the future.
I won't jump into the Small Brewers Duty Relief debate on this blog, but will certainly signpost anybody reading this blog to Steve Dunkley's very well written take on it from Beer Nouveau.
