Festival Review

February 5, 2017

Bents and Bongs 2017!

As always a fantastic event, and admittedly the first time I'd been to the new venue at Atherton Roller Rink.  What a great venue for a beer festival, almost as if it was built to host 200 bumbling ale drinkers.  Again thank you to The Beer School, Westhoughton for sponsoring our own Sheephouse.  Hopefully the start of a very successful year on the festival rounds, after dipping our toes into a few during the latter stages of last year.

A tremendous selection of ales, and seemingly my go to beer at this particular festival, Sarah Hughes, Ruby mild.  Definitely one of my favourites and up to scratch again this year.  Slightly bemused by the lack of sparklers on the pumps though.  I wish I could say I tried all of the offerings but for obvious reasons I didn't quite manage it.  Great to meet Otto the Beer Dude, a new friend of ours and a man who knows his beer (and badges!).

Overall a great festival at a great venue, thanks to the hosts.
