Been a hectic start to 2018!!! and here we are already in March!! The Beast from the East has finally broken us at the brewery and frozen pipes have cancelled the brew today, on the plus side though, time to reflect and actually update the website.
January saw the release of our very first IPA, and American IPA packed with Centennial hops. We were very happy with the result and are looking to package this particular beer in cask, keg and cans/bottles so stay tuned for that.
February we marked the 100 years since the suffragettes won the right to vote with our take on an independent lady, Wilhelmina, Princess of Orange, aptly named as the beer is a spicy ale hopped with Amarillo hops and the addition of ginger to give a subtle spicyness on the palate.
Amongst many other things that's happened so far this year, we also dropped our Underdog cask off with Moorehouses Brewery in Burnley yesterday, ready for it to take its place amongst the other regional SIBA gold winning ales in the National competition. We can't wait to see how it fares at the SIBA X in Liverpool.
This month will also see our good friends Craig and James open the Nook and Cranny microbar in Bromley Cross, Bolton. This area has been crying out for a craft ale outlet and our debut keg of Funky Monkey will be on the taps come opening day. The lads have worked flat out on the fitting and picked some fantastic first beers, we wish them all the best and hope they're ready for the rush!
